20 Date Ideas

In a podcast episode of “Problematic Women,” Monica Cline describes being a former volunteer for Planned Parenthood. She was directed to teach teens how to have better sex—not to abstain from sex.

I learned that teens were having sex because they thought it was the expected recreational activity. In a moment of clarity, Monica helped them realize they can do other things together, such as play basketball at the nearby rec center.

Here are ideas on how to spend time with each other:

  1. Go on a city or photo scavenger hunt

  2. Bake cookies together and deliver them to loved ones

  3. Rent electric scooters

  4. Make homemade ice-cream

  5. Fly a kite

  6. Go on a hike

  7. Teach each other a card game

  8. Visit a bookstore and show each other your favorite books

  9. Attend a local concert

  10. Go on a picnic

  11. Roast hot dogs and marshmallows around a fire pit

  12. Walk through an art gallery

  13. Put a puzzle together

  14. Visit a farmers’ market

  15. Go bowling

  16. Play mini golf

  17. Attend a school sports game or play

  18. Go for a walk or run together then make a smoothie

  19. Visit JustServe.org and find a place to volunteer

  20. Shop at a thrift store and see who can find the craziest item

Relax, be yourself, be kind, and have fun!
