“40 Days for Life”

Your community is full of people who want to steer you in the right direction.

Take 40 Days for Life, for example. Twice a year, there is a peaceful vigil outside Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities. Volunteers sign-up to silently pray outside during a 40-day span.

I made new friends of other faiths at my first 40 Days for Life vigil. What a wonderful group of people!

Some things volunteers might pray for while on the sidewalk:

  • Mothers facing unexpected pregnancies to have courage to cancel their appointments

  • For mothers and fathers to understand what the act of abortion does to the preborn

  • Fathers to have the courage to support a family

  • Parents to feel joy of having a child

  • Mothers and babies to find a safe place to stay

  • Friends and families of expectant mothers

  • That every child may reach his or her purpose

  • Abortion doctors and nurses to change their hearts and support life

  • Faith that God will work miracles

  • Grace to respond with kindness to those who persecute

  • For every woman suffering from the grief and guilt of having an abortion to find help and peace

  • Parents facing difficult pregnancies

Volunteers steer women toward their local pregnancy help centers, where ultrasounds are at no cost and confidential.
