Now What?

If you’re pregnant, have courage and reach out for help.

If you find yourself pregnant, take comfort and courage—there’s help available. Consider the following:

  • Pray for direction.

  • Verify your pregnancy. Visit optionline.org or standwithyou.org to find your nearest pregnancy help center. They offer free and confidential pregnancy verification.

  • Talk with your bishop or trusted Church leader.

  • Understand your pregnancy options. You need information to act upon to use your agency wisely.

  • Get an ultrasound. These are also free and confidential at pregnancy help centers. An ultrasound will give you an estimate of how far along your baby is and if it’s viable (viability means developing under normal conditions).

  • Keep yourself and your baby healthy. Follow the word of wisdom.

  • Contact Family Services of the Church for free counseling.

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

“However many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines.” Jeffrey R. Holland, “The Laborers in the Vineyard,” Liahona, May 2012, 33.
